About RE-Ox®
RE-Ox
is a breakthrough
chlorine technology that removes
scale and film deposits, the complex mixture of inorganic
and organic material accumulated amidst a matrix attached to
all surfaces in contact with water. Unless eliminated, this
deposit matrix consumes chlorine, and create cancer causing
disinfectant by-products like trihalomethanes and haloacetic
acids.
As a result
of
RE-Ox, systems associated with water are cleaned at a microscopic level, remain cleaner and continue to work like new. Residues, scales,
and films on stainless steel, iron, galvanized, and plastics are
removed and prevented by this technology; specifically eliminating the attachment mechanisms (the glue) that holds deposits together and to surfaces.
RE-Ox slowly (or quickly as desired)
removes deposit matrix rather than dissolving or precipitating them.
This is regularly done during normal operations while
water quality is maintained.
RE-Ox
is a non-hazardous, neutral pH solution that is odorless and tasteless in water. RE-Ox
works in higher water pH ranges and removes corrosive deposits, but does NOT add corrosivity to treated water.

RE-Ox is registered
by the NSF as Standard 60 (Spicer Randolph, LLC) for deposit
control for use in drinking and process water. RE-Ox
is registered by US EPA as a surface sanitizer. Note:
No biocidal claims in drinking water applications are made
or inferred. RE-Ox is accepted by CFIA (Canada) for use in water.
RE-Ox is
also acceptable for use in meat, poultry, and other food processing areas as a Chlorine Water Treatment Product (G4), when used in accordance with the respective label instructions and use limitations. This registration program is a continuation of the USDA product approval listing program, which is based on meeting regulatory requirements including FDA 21 CFR. RE-Ox is certified and under Star-K Kosher Supervision.
System and facility operations are impacted because RE-Ox is a unique cleaning agent; it enables your
regular cleaners to work better.
RE-Ox LLC is a member of the American Water Works Association (AWWA), the National Rural Water Association (NRWA) and numerous state / regional water associations. |

Municipal
Water Treatment and Distribution Utilities are using
RE-Ox
to restore and optimize water
quality. By reducing the chlorine demand in
their distribution systems, municipal water operators
get their residuals restored
and get their DBPs reduced.
RE-Ox
removes deposits in chlorinated AND chloraminated
water systems. Systems are being restored to previous
levels of flow and use. Financial savings occur
due to enhanced system performance, reduced flushing,
avoidance of biofilm burnoff procedures,
avoidance of pipe & meter replacement, etc.
Financial savings also come due to reduction of customer
complaints and higher quality, higher performance water
and avoidance of consequences of poor WATER QUALITY.
RE-Ox
is being used by municipal water operators in state all
over the country including Texas, Kansas, Oklahoma,
California, Minnesota, Virginia and many others.
This application is being seen as a major advancement in
water treatment because
RE-Ox
is eliminating the root cause of the many remaining
water treatment problems, not just treating the
symptoms.

Meat, produce, ice packing, dairy, bakeries and other food processors are using RE-Ox to eliminate deposition as part of their HACCP plan for, superior
sanitation results, reduction of labor and reduction of chemical usage, etc.
For example, in a
cook plant, RE-Ox was staged into the plant water supply that resulted in all hot and cold water lines, and even an ozonated water line being cleared of deposits
by the fourth week. Also, scale
was noticeably reduced from processing equipment in many areas. Chemical usage was able to be reduced.
In a plant producing frankfurters, one of the results after only 3 weeks was a significant improvement in the level of clean in the smokehouse brine chill system.
In a pork processing plant, RE-Ox treatment in the CIP for the bone-in loin needle injector system resulted in the needles being significantly cleaner.
In that same pork processing plant, RE-Ox treated water is successfully used to spray on and clean the carcasses.
In a chicken cook plant, RE-Ox treatment in the make up water to a ozonation loop line, resulted in the release of significant quantities of scale from the piping.
In that same
chicken cook plant, RE-Ox treatment in the make up water to a fogger resulted in the surfaces of equipment being micro-cleaned of residues,
film and surface scale.
In a sausage processing plant, RE-Ox treatment was effective in cleaning
metal surfaces and floors to an extent not achievable previously. The need for a corrosive cleaning chemical on the floor was eliminated.
RE-Ox'idized water is used in the sausage and to
clean the sausage as they are removed from casings. As a side benefit, the plant no longer
has to use separate cooling tower chemicals.
In a veal processing plant, RE-Ox treatment in the plant water had an initial result of several heat exchangers being cleared of scale.
In
poultry hatchery and production facilities,
RE-Ox treated water eliminated
scale and residues from, nozzles, piping and surfaces.
In produce processing facilities, RE-Ox treated water has eliminated scale in rotary and plate type industrial ice making.
In a
bakery, peanut allergens were eliminated from the
plant surfaces and equipment with directly applied RE-Ox
and then, later, by just RE-Ox treated
facility water. |

RE-Ox
use in hospital water
eliminates
scales, films and residues in hospital
water, faucets, showerheads, kitchen equipment, cooling
towers, chillers and other equipment. |

|
RE-Ox use in
hotel water has eliminated scale from their entire water distribution system and prevented the need for facility shut down for hazardous acid treatment or piping removal and replacement. |
 |

RE-Ox
use in restaurant and food and
beverage facility water has produced
- Scale
and film and bacterial reduction in fixtures, dishwasher, icemaker, and
other equipment.
- Ice is clearer and harder.
- Silverware and glasses have less spots.
- Drain lines remain open and clearer.
- Cooler pads for makeup air show no scale deposits.

RE-Ox use in cooling towers/chillers results in a virtually scale free system. Scale elimination substantially reduces the electricity needed to power chillers. Additional savings accrue as RE-Ox treatment enables cycles to increase, dramatically reducing water use.

Consider the impact of your water performing as a
scale/film/residue/corrosion control…instead of a distributor of
deposition and corrosion.

|
Sanitation in food processing, healthcare, hospitality and other industries becomes more successful because water becomes an ally in removing
scales, films, and residues. Deposition removal is immediate, noticeable and can be controlled.
Cleaners become more effective,
often at lower concentrations so the combined weights of those chemicals can frequently be reduced, which saves costs on chemicals and lowers impact on wastewater treatment fees.
Standard cleaners used to remove soils fused in scales commonly leave substantial residues containing carbon, phosphorus, nitrogen and salts:
the very substances that support life |
Engineering in all industries performs operations with fewer repairs, less shut down time, lower maintenance cost and with less hazardous chemicals in the plant and waste water system.
Water rates and Wastewater treatment fees are on the rise. Plants are now being monitored and charged for excess BOD, COD or TSS. Changing the properties of process water chemistry with RE-Ox will lower chemical accumulation, which lowers impact on wastewater treatment fees.
Condenser loops on refrigeration systems, Cooling Towers, Hot Water Heaters and other equipment, stay scale free - saving electricity.
Monitoring and control is easy, and can be performed by personnel without monthly service charges.
Quality Assurance will see the difference under normal monitoring.
Cleaning is significantly improved because all water becomes
a cleaner, not the distributor of
deposit forming material that it is now. RE-Ox treated water is dealing with residues and film problems (nucleation sites) on metal and plastics in a new way: Validation studies, fieldwork and a range of customers have proven RE-Ox'idized water to perform well in:
Food Processing and other Equipment - Belts, Brine Injection Systems, Icemakers etc., are micro-cleaned in normal sanitation efforts, even in the most recalcitrant CIP procedures.
Sprayers and Mist Eliminator systems operate without scaling to deliver effective environmental control.
Drains, Floors and Walls remain clean and free of deposits.
|
|
  |
It should be more recognized that water is the most important chemical used.
The unique new properties of RE-Ox treated water result in cost saving superior cleaning
effectiveness when employed on a continual basis in water.

Treatment of the water distribution system for an entire utility, selected areas, an entire facility or specific equipment with RE-Ox will result in significant COST saving benefits, including:
-
Elimination and prevention of scale, films, residues and other mineral deposits
-
Improvement of cleaning process
-
Labor reduction
-
Improvement of chemical function in water
-
Reduction of chemical usage
-
